Hello, new here , everytime I lift my foot off the accelerator there's a strange noise, difficult to describe but a slight wearing noise? Could be a clutch issue or just gearbox itself ? It's a 1.6 vtr with 91k miles, any ideas, and could it be gear box oil?
Maybe gearbox?

#2Sounds like diff bearing is whining
-
#3does it alter with engine speed/road speed, does it do it with clutch in/out, all gears or just some?
-
#4Does when the clutch is out, doesn't do it stationary, just when driving and most noticeable in first and second but does it in all gears and stops when accelerator is pressed, even slightly pressed it stops
-
#5Did you find the problem? I have a similar issue its sounds like a tinny grinding noise though!

#6Could be more than box or clutch mate, if it stops when u touch the throttle
-
#7does it sort of sound like a jumbo jet is taking off behind the dash as you gradually build up speed? an old 1.1 I had did that. I think it was the diff bearing, so it need a new gearbox

#8Clutch in - no noise
Clutch out - noise
Release bearing, fairly common, just try dipping the clutch at different speeds... If its still there then a new box mate
