I wouldn't recommend it because the car picked up a fault, therefore I expect your light won't remain absent for long, but then again it could have been a one off. Best thing to do mate is get an OBDII scanner off ebay / amazon I paid about £7 and you can use Torquepro app on your phone to read the codes and to whipe the light off yourself if the light comes back.

Here is a link to the very one I bought: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Di...4087383&sr=8-1

That is a bluetooth one that you connect to your phone and use an app to read the codes.

cheers i think i might get it as could save me a lot of money ? could some engine management lights fuck up your engine ? and did i reset the ecu by doing what i did ?

have you modified your engine?, thats why mine comes on, yes you reset the ecu, if you havent modified it then there may be a problem(sorry didnt think about that) if the light comes back on then theres a problem, i reset mine went then came back on not long after as i have a 421 manifold & reads different air flow, your lamber sensor may have gone ect but could be vary of things, as lads have said try get a reader.

fitted a 4-1 manifold last month and a pod filter ? the lambda sensor was left on the manifold,? should i try swapping my old sensor back on.?

Could try mate, but you will just be guessing until you get the fault code read, assuming the light returns, seeing as you've recently changed the manifold it is possible to be lambda related. Make sure you have no leaks escaping from your manifold.

As Kebabman said the device links to your phone via blue tooth and you control the device on your phone, you can use the software that comes with it on your laptop, but I would recommend you do it on your phone because the software is a bit suspect.

For the sake of £7 you can't really go wrong, it's better than paying 4 times that for a mechanic to tell you that a £5 sensor is knackered.

worth a try but its because the ecu reads wrong as theres no more cat (if it originally had one?) think problem will stay like mine does
