Hi, might be along shot, but alot of members seem to have clio sports now, so thought id ask here...
Ive got a 52 plate 172, and when you think its in 1st gear, and try to set off...the gear stick just simply 'flops' out of gear and back into neutral, theres seems to be no resistance to pull it out like there is in all the other gears (when engines off) and doesnt feel like its engaging when the engines on either...all other gears work fine...
Any ideas? been told lower mount or possible linkage...how ever, the lower mount seems fine, and not sure what im looing at with the linkages as they are abit different from a saxo's...
ill try and describe best i can what i see under there...if you follow the bars from the bottom of the gear leaver to the box end, there is a bar it bolts to (with a 13mm bolt holding it together) runs through what looks like the selector and into a little balljoint housed on the edge of the gearbox (has a small circlip holding 2 plastic caseings and the balljoint into a hole in the side of the box, this is wobbly (not sure if its ment to be) every thing else seems stable... any ideas?
