Nearly span out :o

I was on the duel carriage way near me today, doing like 70-80mph. It was a slight bend and I had to brake as a car pulled out in front of me. It pulled hard to the right and my back end was all over the place, so close to having a major accident. What would cause this?

    Thanks

Did you have your rear brake compensator/bias valve w.e adjusted on the Beam when it was lowered?

Haven't had it lowered yet mate. Just checked around the drivers wheel and it seems my cv boot has slightly come away and grease is all on the inside of the wheel :/.

No not really, I have driven on track going a hell of a lot faster than you were going with cars pulling in front of me and I never nearly spun out.

Shit driving prob's shit tyres and incorrect tyre pressures. More than likely just a shit driver though.

It pulled due to the bend and the weight transfer, none of this compensator shit.

Think I've found the cause in my last post. Pretty sure that's what's cause it, unisport royals with good tread so tyres are fine. Cv grease is everywhere though.

Well it could of been the problem.

brake imbalance due to CV grease all over one side.

exacerbated by NOOB braking on a corner whilst driving too fast.

Had no choice in breaking on a corner, when the car in the left lane decides to pull out a few meters in front of me.

This is what happens when you're doing 127mph in a saxo then brake hard mid corner.

Why were you confused as to why this happened?
  20. #20
    70-80mph mate, that's why I was confused.

I was joking but the outcome would have been the same at either speeds, did you feel the car pull under normal braking?

Because it was only 70-80mph and it pulled hard. Unlike normal.

Not really. Only a retard would ask some one why they are retarded at life.
And with your pissy moaning comments i would say you are a full on retard.

brake on a corner and let off hello back end
  40. #40
    any camber on the axle?
  41. #41
Just drove it down the road doing like 30mph around a sharpish left bed and it felt like it wanted to pull to the right. This was without breaking
  42. #42
You unsettled the car with lift off oversteer which got worst with sharp braking... So some of the comments above are right about your bad driving as you clearly were not driving sensibly and within your capabilities.

If you still think you are ayrton sennas encarnation go and get your wheel alligment checked as a slightly torn cv boot will not have enough grease to cause the rear tires to lose traction

    very clever......

chances are you will have locked the back end up.

Find some empty road and do an emergency stop and see what the car does.

quite right with that ASSumption, however it would have caused a rather massive imbalance of front braking power.

shit driving prob little harsh but roads are signed very well to make u aware of what's oncoming. should really have been slower then 70 coming into junctions and now u know why.

shit happens, some cunt did an Ebrake on th motorway and my rear end locked up and nearly caught th concrete wall. dickfuck over-reacted to someone signalling and thought he was being cut up. cunt

did u have a lot of stuff in th back? that made my incident a lot worst thn needed!

Don't think you read my original post properly mate lol. Duel carriage way, overtaking....some cunt in left lane doesn't see me coming past and decides to pull out. Nahhhh rear was empty.

It doesn't take a genius to work out if you lift off or brake hard on a tight corner you will unsettle the car because the geometry of the suspension will vary shifting the weight of the car.

ABS brakes? A little grease on one disc is enough to cause serious imbalance and the car will pull hard. OP not knowing you shouldn't brake sharply mid-corner otherwise it's bye bye car.

Yeh the inside of the wheel is pretty coated :/. I had no choice to brake sharply or I would of been in the back end of the land rover. I guess its better to get a new driveshaft than a CV boot kit?
  52. #52
Fair enough, I have seen my fair share of dangerous folks driving and having no choice but to get my foot through the brake pedal.

I'd take the wheel off and do a proper assessment, then have a look at the driveshaft and see if it needs doing. I had a greasy disc once just after a detail and some of the cleaning products got in there. I was only round the corner at 15 mph but felt a sharp pull, nearly enough to get off the road. I was already on the hand brake just in case and clearly something you don't expect. In my case it wasn't some CV damage etc but I did wonder about that straight away.

So just make sure you degrease all that crap, also not great as the dirt will also glue to that immediately and you don't want that in between your pads and discs. I'd do it asap just to avoid getting from bad to worse.
