Cam fitment.....

   Hey folks just a question about cams, do they need to be fitted profesionaly at a place such as dastek or something or can your average joe back street mechanic do the job?
   
   Also any prices of cost on cams+remap? (fitment and cost of parts)
   
   Estimating around 100bhp at the moment on a vtr so where would cams+remap take that to?

   What other mods have you got done on the engine?
   
   Most garages would be able to fit them for you as its not too hard, getting the timing set would be the tricky part.(for me anyway)
   
   Supplying and fitting of cams and a remap would be roughly £700 - £1000 or there abouts.

   you could do it yourself if your confident enough.
   tbh its pretty straight forward. 16v is anyway never done 8v.

   8 valve is easier. 115bhp with a decent cam in there. You only get one cam in a VTR. I'd drop a vts lump in though instead

   Mods to the car so far is elclosed induction kit, 4-2-1 manifold, magnex de-cat and magnex cat back!
   
   No idea how to fit cams myself to be honist, but i think they are the next step after what ive done already!
