#2Decat is a failure anyway. If its meant to have a factory fitted cat it needs to be there. (As far as I'm aware?)

#3It more depends on who you know lol. Unless a want to put the cat back on once a year.
-
#4Nope if you can get a car through the emissions test with no cat you don't need one. Good luck with that one though.
-
#5So it will fail then?
-
#6New rule came in on 20th March which is if its supposed to have a cat from factory then it must be there regardless of if it passes the emissions
-
#7What's the score with a sports cat then? Will it pass with one of them?
-
#8thought there was also a visual inspection so if it isn't visually there it will fail too. but to answer yes will fail without a cat regardless of emission's. depends on sports cat. I had the janspeed sport cat mani on mine for bout 3 years passed every time Barr when centre pipe tore and emissions were screwed up

#9It's a stainless steel catback with a sport cat so I can just put that on as I've got a Saxsport atm, I think it's a magnex catback. Will this be ok?
-
#10Yes, decat is an automatic fail even if the emissions are met. it never used to bet hat way though.Quote:so i have a mk2 vtr with a decat manifold and im just wondering if this will fail on emissions? or does it depend on where you take it?
Not quite, a catalytic converter needs to be there on all cars in the UK built from first registered and used on or after 1992 (J) plate.Quote:Nope if you can get a car through the emissions test with no cat you don't need one. Good luck with that one though.
Cat back doesn't come into it, as long as it's not blowing and not "too loud" (which is at the discretion of the tester)Quote:It's a stainless steel catback with a sport cat so I can just put that on as I've got a Saxsport atm, I think it's a magnex catback. Will this be ok?
the sport cat will pass, if it's heated up properly before the test. -
