rear axel or wheel bearing?

    keep hearing bangs from the rear left hand side of the car

    ffs i keep hearing bangs from the left hand side of the car comeing fromt the rear so i looked into it and i can pull the wheel back and forth with force the wheel is on tight so could it be a bearing or is the axel past it?

    Jack it up and see if it wobbles, if it does then its time to change over. Also a good sign is if the arch inside is polished from the tyre rubbing against it.

    Very very very certain. Your getting bangs from the rear? and you can move the wheel back and forth while it's not even jacked up?
    Park the car on a flat surface and have a look at the back of your car. Do the wheels look like this /__\ ?

    And you can get a kit to fix the axle, But so much easier to just replace it... Ive been through 3 axles now lol.

    the wheels seem to have no camber at all yeah if it is the axel i will just replace it theres a rear disk beam at the scrapy near me whice is a bonus with mine being a vts the disk ect seems to stay still when i move it would that move if it was the axle? and yeah its while its on the floor...

    Jack it up and see if there's play, also as said above check the arch for scraping, you can buy the bearing kits, there's guides in switching them over, your pins may be fucked though depending how long ago the bearings failed..
