Ticking noise coming from throttle body

   Hi all
   Probably been done to death but.... I have a ticking from the throttle body. 1.1 Saxo 1997. Oil is old in it going to change today. Pretty sure it's not from the tappets but sounds similar to an old escorts tappets. Any ideas guys and girls.

   Could be tappets or more than likely the injectors ticking.

   Is it ticking whilst its running, and constantly?

   Does sound like its coming from the inlet as oppose to the rocker box cover area. Oil is now new, air filter checked etc . There is no loss in power and it idles well. Just a bloody annoying ticking sound that does increase when more throttle is used.

   Yes while running, and increases the more throttle I give it. Thanks for they replys

   Does sound like its the tappets to be honest, It could just be 1 which isnt adjusted correctly, causing it to tap. If its on the inlet side it could sound like its coming from the TB.
   
   They're easy to adjust though, Takes about half hour of your time.
   Do you have a haynes manual?

   Thanks very much for the info. Really appreciate it. No I don't have a Haynes manual. Two questions though . How do I get top dead centre for each cylinder and what gap should it be. Sorry about this. I won't ask you to do it for me

   We had a ticking sound on the gf's old saxo.
   
   Turned out to be a loose spark plug.

   Mine had the same prob turned out one of the spark plugs was loose now no more ticking
