Strut top nut: HELP PLEASE

    Been lowering my car this weekend managed to get one spring on okay but on other strut the very top nut on the strut is stuck as hell, ive snapped a torx bit on it and i have no idea what to try to get it off! would burning the nylon out help? i just need it off badly i can get another nut but car needs to be back together today!

    Just take an angle grinder to it, inbetween the springs, i doubt you will change them over again. Be fine. That would be my last port of call. as i nearly had to do it myself because the nut wouldnt budge at all for me.

    If anyone else has any other ideas then fair enough but thats what i was nearly going to do..

    Make sure the springs are compressed though..

    Yes burning the nylon out will help - might have to give it several attempts as it will free off whilst its liquidy and then set again. Be very very careful what else gets hot with the blow touch.

    whenever i have trouble with them, i just put them in the boot and take them to the nearest garage for them to whip it off with an impact gun

    One of my old mates snapped top of the strut off on my mk3 fiesta. The angle grinder was my friend after that..
