cammed or speedo error?

now I know that this gets asked alot and every saxo with a shit idle has been cammed, BUT the idle on my 16v is quite lumpy, the car feels very nippy (but yes i was in a boggo vtr before) however having a little spirited drive today and the rev limit seemed to go right round to about 7600, and I thought vts generally standard went to 7200? have I just got that wrong or is it possible my rev counter if out?

my vts seems to do this as well, and i am not aware if its cammed or not (probably aint)

If its cammed it dont automaticly raise the rev limit

Needs to be mapped to do that, and if its lumpy then its not mapped there for 90% not cammed.

Only one way to find out take of a cam cover.

im not expecting it to be cammed, i know every second engine apparently is, just curious as to what would cause it to read high limit?

    User error might

if thats a dig at the omex it is unplugged lol

    Huh? What Omex?

    I mean are you misreading.

If its a 3 plug they do sometimes over rev when warm and getting battered

Mine ive had allmost 7700 out of on oe unmapped ecu on stock cams

Your throttle body needs a clean or a vac hose isnt connected right causing a shit idle

Ah right apologies, I though you meant cos I have an omex rev limiter on the car and I know how popular they are...

Ah ok cheers Alex well it's the ecu from you so I know it's not mapped or anything! And yeah need to sort out the oil breather set up, I fitted a new exhaust and that helped the idle alot as I think the old one collapsed...
