Important! : Need help with recent car problems!

Hi, i have a 1999 saxo 1.1, the problems i am having are 1. My car keeps revving itself, its getting quite dangerous now as it is constantley doing it, also the car jolts sómetimes before the revving kicks in. 2. I got my car serviced a month ago and my spark plugs overheated what could cause this? 3. There is a strong smell of petrol after the car starts ive bee:n told it could be over/under fueling? Any help will be muchly appreciated. thanks

First i would try cleaning the idle control valve mate, That could be the problem for the self revving. The over fueling could be a few things from the map sensor to the lambda sensor.

With the spark plugs removed what colour are the tips?

Thanks for the reply, the car usto start but instantly drop revs an go to cut out but after a meew high revs it will sit back as normal any, but i have changed the spark plugs and it now fires straight away. The old spark plugs are a month old any idea what has caused this? The end of the old spark plugs are black. Thanks

Also when the car revs itself it feels as if it is pulling itself back, after it stops revving itself the exhaust sounds really loud any ideas? Thanks

One thing I have now noticed is that just before the car revs itself I can feel the pedal push itself down and stick anyone know what i can do to stop it?
