Driveshaft turning very wierdly (noise?)

Jacked the car up today and all wheel bearings are fine. One of the driveshaft boots pops off when the wheels are turned. Also, both driveshafts spin off axis when the wheels are turned either left or right. Think the drivers side is worse. Hard to explain but if they spin in a circle when the wheels are pointing forward, when they turn if pointing left or right they spin in an oval. If that makes sense? Is that normal? (guessing not...)

So if not, then is it the driveshafts themselves, cv joints or something else?

They do make a bit of noise when turned, hard to explain, sounds a bit like rubbing/squeaking/rubbing.

If anybody would be kind enough to jack up their car and have a look if theirs does the same that would be grand

I was always told clicking sound on lock = mullered cv joints

And it would seem going oval on lock would lead to this hmmm,m

It's more a squak/squeal as opposed to a knock. The turning oval is super wierd though. I was just trying to get my head around that if a cv joint had gone, how would that make the driveshaft go oval?

How easy is it to replace one or shall I just get the whole driveshaft?

Was yours doing the same thing? Just doon't wanna get the shafts if the problem lies elsewhere.

And yeah apparently according to GSF parts you can't get a cv joint on its own?

Found some on eBay brand new knocking around between £30-40 coming with 2 year guarantees. Reckon that will be alright? Can't see me having the car much longer than 2 years anyway
