Water under rear seats

  1. #1
Had this for a while but dry weather made me forget.

Heavy rain yesterday and under my rear seats are wet again, puddles and I can't figure it out, my boot carpet used to always seem wet too.

Boot seal has been replaced and is good, no signs f water coming the sunroof that I can tell and nothing drips from the interior light so Arial seems fine.

    Got me stumped!

    Cheers

Funny as my rear lights are full of water! Even when I had my standard mk2 lights on they never filled with water and the car still got wet though!

Are there any suggestions for these? Can they be bought new or is it game over and keep trying ones from scrappys? Lol

My typing was horrendous up there sorry chap!

Ye i've had it a few times where mine haven't been done up tight enough and filled full of water but my old standard set never got wet but i always had a puddle1

Some people silicone around the seal but it makes them hard to remove, not 100% sure if you can buy new ones as im sure they're glued on! Could give citroen a ring though?

I bought some new rear lights in the end and always made sure they were tight!

Ah I see, maybe if I get an extra stick on seal on the car side and mate the 2 together when I put the lights back on - ill see what I can do

    Thanks bud

Vaseline on the seals works a treat. I also added a couple of extra drain holes in the bottom of the light casing so water can run away

an ex;s car used to poor water in from them side vents in the boot as they had no rear arch things and also in the boot there were a few holes that weren't plugged up.
I just ripped all boot out and went through with Halfords gromits and then siliconing them in. then seeled up them vents on the side, after that rear seats were never wet again
