Basically the gearbox in my vtr is just pants. The gears seem way to long for the little 8v. Seems to run out of puff way to quick struggles to go past 100mph. Has an induction kit decat and a catback stainless. Is there any other box i can fit to make it more driveable.
saxo vtr gearbox/ poor performance

#1
-
#2vts box may make acceleration faster
-
#31.1 box, easy enough swap can be done in a couple of hours and makes a huge difference!
-
#4Looking to atleast be able to reach 130mph is this possible??
-
#5why 130?
-
#6doesnt a vtr in standard form do 120 on paper? that not close enough?
also, if you decide to put a 1.1 box on it you will lose abit of your topend but the difference it does to the acceleration is massively increased! -
#7I guess it maybe as im used to type r's and 172 clios
-
#8well they are 2.0ltr cars
-
#9Ye i no. Its just i no there heavier and the little saxo ways bugger all. just trying to see if i can squeeze abit more from the little 8v
-
#10the vts would be a better way to go in my opinion of course still won't be as quick as a type r but they can be tuned well if you have the cash!
-
#11Will the vts be ok for everyday use with a little bit of a heavy right foot
-
#12of course it will be
-
#13I've been looking in to doing a box change but not sure what to put on my vtr do I go 1.1 box or the vts? Not sure what's best :/
-
#14you wont be doing 130mph indicated with a 1.1 box, or a rallye box. The VTR just doesnt have enough revs as standard.
VTS box over a 1.1 box any da in my view, its a sports box so the shafts fit properly.
If you are used to drive RS clios and type-Rs then a vtr wont drive like one of them at all
