Ive finished my project a week early at college so got a block of ally and machined myself a nice custom gearknob, i just need to know what size to drill and ream the bore to fit the shaft of the gear stick and it just to confirm its a push fit? Cheers

You pulled mine off, you should know!
You can either leave the little plastic slide on the leaver or cut it off, so potentially their are two sizes you could use.
I couldnt tell you what they are though.

I'd say about 1/4 inch. I sawed through my gear lever to shorten it today.

I don't have my calipers handy though, they've gone missing.

You should have machined a proper non ball gearknob and made a retaining pin

Machine a grub screw into it?

Im cutting mine off and tapping it as how the other was fitted was a bodge to say the least

I tapped mine to a m12 thread to fit my ek9 gear knob. IIRC it was 13.5mm where the cross hatched etching is at the top.
