Hi guys, not sure what the point of this stuff is? Maybe soundproofing anyway if its pointless then what's the easiest way to remove this?

I did this last weekend, I found the best bet was a scraper (or if you dont care about your floors too much like I dont then a wooden mallet) and scrap or hit it so it cracks up. Petrol helped soften the tar too, some people use stuff like nitromors or whatever I guess

Going to try and heat it with a hair dryer as I don't have a heat gun. Ill give it my best shot now. I got a scraper here ill give it a go. Thanks

a hair dryer or heat gun from the back side to warm up the metal and it come off in one piece ,as the glue softens first ,then brake cleaner or some solvent to remove the glue remains

As said above heat gun and scrapper, comes off in one piece then nitro or anything petrol based to remove glue residue.

Blow torch on it for a few secs and wall paper scraper, removes it all with no residue or damage

but better if you heat the underside ,then it will come off better and leave less bits ,if you heat top side it goes soft and crappy before it releases the glue
