worn cam lobes?

Are these cam lobes worn? I cant Tell, havent really seen many cam lobes like this, they are a bit blank with some darker areas.. Got hot? Prolly.. But are they to worn to be driven with

18'000 mil.. I dont know the English lenght for it, as Sweden and us/uk is not the same..

Dear Bim,
In my opinion, there is some slight wear on those lobes ( more wear on them than I would have expected for only having done 18,000 miles )
However not enough wear to worry about. I have seen far far worse cam lobe wear on old Citroen GS,s/GSA,s from the early 1980,s where they were knocking camshafts and rocker arms in 9,000 miles ( however the really bad wear on camshafts in those days was purely down to excess sealant from where the fitting of the camshaft oil seal, blocking off the oil galleries in the cylinder heads.

I cant remember if they looked like this before i rebuild the head (and yeah, i put the hg upisde down so it didnt get any much oil..) So the worn is prolly because of that..

I wanted to know if its bad or really bad..

And 18'000 swedish miles, is about 110k in uk i think..

That's pretty odd wear, normally they wear a band into the cam lobe, but I can't see that here... Just what looks to be a fair bit end wear

What valve springs are in it?

Dear Bim,
I can fully understand with fitting the head gasket the wrong way round, would have a detrimental effect on the oil feed to the camshaft ( through the
incorrectly fitted ) head gasket.
However, I don,t think you will have any more adverse wear on the camshaft now that you have the head gasket fitted correctly now Bim

Its just standard, with rebuilt i meant just regrind the valves to the seats, and changed the valve seals/stems

Dear Bim,
I have just had to do the head gasket on my daughter 1999 1.4cc Saxo automatic at 74,000 miles, as I whipped the plugs out and the middle two cylinders spark plugs were orange with rusty coolant and also low compressions on the middle two cylinders. I took the head off and measured the face of the head with a straight edge diagonally with a set of feeler gauges and there was a 7 thou gap right between the middle two cylinders ( the gap was huge ) Had the head skimmed prior to rebuilding the head.
Bim, there is only one way to work on cars and that is to do every job properly and without cutting any corners

Im not sure what you mean with that post.

And i skimmed my head 0,15mm to get it straight.
