Could the top engine mount rubber buffer on my vts cause bad vibration when reving car and when driving abit had a look at it and its badley worn and perished and the vibartion it coming from that side into my dash board thanks

#2Can you move the engine by hand?A bit of play is expected but not excessive play.

#3I didnt have a decent engine "buffer" in on the drivers side mount for ages and fitted on a few months ago - made not one jot of difference

#4Got exacly the same problem on my vts .. When revs go ova 4-5k I goes .. Tick ova is fine .. Soon as u touch the pedel the drivers side dash an everythink on the front right viberates!! .. I think it could be the top mount .. If not the mite be exhaust front pipe hittin of the chassis

#5what happened in my mates gti was, the buffer got too worn out so it caused the bolt in the middle of the mount to snap, which ment the engine leaned up against the chassis, causing unbelievable vibration through the dash and the whole car

#6does that buffer really do all that much though? its pretty soft. Only thing is I did have a powerflex lower fitted taking up some play I guess.
To the OP its worth changing it though, its 15 mins to swap it -
