Number Plate lights + reverse lights not working

   I have noticed this evening that the number plate lights don't work. I have given them a good bang but they both won't come on. I've not checked the bulbs just yet but I will do in the morning.
   
   Also my reverse light won't come on. I'm guessing this is a gearbox switch but would these two things be connected?

   could be a fuse check if one has blown.
