Help needed with fitting wheels

  1. #1
I have a set of Team Dynamic wheels I'm trying to put on my car, I had them on before, when I got the car, but they had spacers, so the bolts were longer.

I'm currently on vtr alloys, so tried putting the TD's on with the vtr bolts but I can't seem to get the wrench in far enough on the wheel holes let alone see if they're long enough.

So, did I need a new wrench? Or will getting new bolts have different heads, allowing the wrench to tighten the bolts before they meet metal?

    I have no idea!

hi, did you use the same bolts the team d's had?, original vtr bolts are flat faced, you may need tapered bolts.

No, they are longer than the vtr bolts, I put them in with vtr wheels once.

    Couldn't move.

ok lol iv done that before with drum brakes, if you have the spacers mate? put them back on, also put the bolt through the alloy while its off, measure how much it pokes out the back, then roughly measure see how far in goes through disc/hub, then buy new bolts to fit.

I think it's too much, as I have no idea what I'm doing!

May just sell them? How do I tell what they are?

try find socket that fits, my vtr ones are 19mm, if your bolts you have where on with your team d's before, why dont they fit now?(i may be being blonde)

The bolts I had with the TD's were longer because there were also spacers fitted, but I had to change the wheels after a mechanic recommended I changed them, and then eventually the car started shaking, worse and worse at 50mph, so picked up a cheap set of vtr wheels.

So I bought some rings the other day in the hope of re-fitting them, but now having bolt problems. I don't want to put the spacers on because of the trouble I had before.

And because I broke one getting them off
