Can a 106 gti engine fit in a VTR

    My friends said i can have his 106 gti for free and i was wondering if the engine would fit in my VTR

    Yes it will.

    There is no difference in bay size between a VTR and VTS and the VTS engine is essentially the same engine as the one in a 106 GTI.

    That's not to say you will not need more than just the engine.

    Yes it'll fit. The parts you require will depending on the year of your VTR. mainly it'll be engine, engine loom, any ancillaries and ECU.

    The looms between saxos and 106s differ so youll need a vts engine loom for it most likely

    My vtr is a 2001 and iv got the whole car so could i use the gtis looms and that

    To make it plug and play you'll want to use the gti interior loom and clocks which is the cheapest way

    No there's a massive rust hole in the bottom of it

    Ahh fair enough then, I was gonna say.. surely you weren't just wasting a perfectly good GTI haha!
