MOTs and harnesses

  1. #1
Just a quick question. I have just fitted bucket seats and 4 point harnesses into the car, they are all attached properly. Will this still pass an MOT?

As long as they are attached correctly they will have no problem with it. My Saxo passed 3 or 4 MOTs with harnesses in.

No reason why not as long as it's all well done.

    Good to know Thanks

If they use exsisting anchor points, have the normal buckle like standard seatbelts.

If theyre fixed buckets then you cant have rear seats, but then you aint meant to anyway unless you are a boyracer chav then you are allowed.

Yeah they use the existing points. and i have no back seats haha as the harnesses are mounted to the rear seatbelt mounts.

they don't, and I was just clearing up that you can have rear seats fitted if you have fixed bucket seats and harnesses in the front, in some cases you have to which is why I referred to night events. You said that you cant, which is not true.

Its not a fail that the seats are fixed its a fail that the rear seatbelts are inaccesible to be checked therefore, its a fail!

If you got seats you have to have belts though

No seats and belts is ok.

No belts but seats and they have to be tested!

any MOT tester with a brain knows how hard it is to build a competitive rally car along side keeping it road legal, so they tend to let you off minor things like that, they do round here anyway.

going completely off topic here anyway lol.
