Car is due set on fire lol

i'm at my wits end with this car of mines, the idle is crazy it drives as if its in cruise control the revs hunt, its been doing this all for months every time i pull up to a traffic light it revs up and down till i stop then shoots up to crazy like 4k revs it does this when hot or cold. when i'm driving along it will pick up speed by itself the car has a mind of its own lol also when i starts up from hot or cold the revs automatically shoot up 2 between 3 and 4k revs.

Things i have changed for brand new parts

    ICV
    Map Sensor
    Coolant temp sensor

    Things i have tried:

    Cleaned full throttle body
    Cleaned TPS
Cleaned ICV slot bit it goes into
Overnight ECU reset (over 10 times)
    ICV reset
    TPS reset
    Checked all pipes for splits

I don't know what else to try also don't really know how to check for vacuum leaks any one with any ideas it would be much appreciated

Also its a VTR 52 Plate if that helps any even though i know it probably happens with all makes and models lol

    Personally I'd scrap it.

We've all been and had some fun with these piles of crap, and looking at the majority of our members - we've all moved on to better things.

They're just terrible, ok for a track car perhaps but to live with day to day - I'd rather drive a Metro.

With regards to your problem, might be ECU related or one of the many sensors might've packed up. Coilpack would be my next point of call (If it has one).

Its a tidy little car just the idle is crazy think it could be time to let it go, but maybe try the coil pack and crank sensor before letting her go first lol see before i acquire a coil pack is there any way to check the one thats on?

Finally think i have solved this problem i took the idle control valve and pulled it out so that it was fully open, the car now idles fine just have to take it a long journey to see if it stays that way
