Silver top.

The silver top of my engine has a few cracks in the rubber seal around it, was wondering what the cover is called? The silvery metal thing with the citreon badge on.

Would rather look a twat on here than in the citreon dealer.

rocker cover and gasket seal. Be careful when you put it back on not to overcrank the two bolts, you don't want them to break in there.

Is there any implication to removing it?

Citroens are dearer of course. You can get a full headgasket kit for around 20 quid or so.

Defo get the haynes, it will save you loads of money. In your case, doing the seal only is a piece of piss, just be careful with the rocker nuts.

    theyre about £4-5 from GSF

citroen will rip you off big time, i'd never go to a dealer.

Its a very easy job, only takes 10 minutes

you just have to move the black plastic coilpack out the way (i think like 2 bolts) then the rocker cover has 2 bolts. Just make sure when you refit the rocker cover with the new seal that it isnt too tight (you dont want to risk breaking the bolt) or isnt too loose (as it will still seap oil lol)

Plus be sure to fit the baffle plate the right way up,or the rocker cover won`t sit true.
