Tiger Seal Spoiler?

  1. #1
I want to put a spoiler on my 1.1 so i'm wondering if any one has fitted a mark 1 spoiler with the bolts that are meant to go through the window with tiger Seal? Or is it best of getting a Mark 1 spoiler?

Also is there any shops that sell Tiger Seal? I was thinking B&Q but can only see it online.

I've never tiger sealed a spoiler on, just seems a bit of a corsa c uk thing to do.

I know its been done quite a lot but i'm wondering if the mark 2 spoiler has been fitted with tiger seal and not with the bolts through the window.

    It's easy.
Been covered on here a million times.
Just blob on tigerseal onto the spoiler (black bits) get a mate to help u line it up, then slide it onto ur back window
make sure the top of the spoiler is flush with the back of the roof coming down,
then with your mate still holding it, tape it into place, leave overnight or a day to set, remove tape.

And that's with the mark 2 spoiler?

Any one know any high street shops that sell tiger seal?

+1 on ebay, much cheaper. Shops sell it around 9-12quid a tube.
yes that is an Mk2 spoiler. I would pic a picture up of mine, but i'm ashamed of how high it is above the actual tailgate. Needs to be flush when you look at it from the side.

That's perfect cheers for the help guys, but I'm still looking for a shop that sells it as after to as I'm not gonna have spare time for a while so can't order it from eBay as I'm a inpatient bastard!

On the topic of Tigerseal, how strong is this stuff? Seems a bit risky to me attaching something like a spoiler which I get the impression is glorified glue? No experience of it myself it's a genuine query. Must have been instances of the stuff failing at high speed?

    It's very strong.

There is no chance of a spoiler or the like falling off 'even at high speed'

Next question.... When I stick it onto the car do I put tiger seal on the actual window where the bolts should hold it on or just the edge of the boot lid?

Thanks for the bout so far guys

ive tigersealed my mk2 spoiler to my mk1
stayed for a couple years until a mate leaned on it and it later fell off under the heathrow tunnel lol
current mk2 spoiler is still going strong. I just dont let anyone lean on it lol

btw, mk1 spoilers bolt to the boot, mk2 spoilers bolt through the window. Either one can be tigersealed on

Yes i know they can be tiger sealed on. i'm just wondering if i put the tiger seal onto the window or just round the edges so it glues to the boot and not the glass. me no know.

Bang it on your spoiler pads. then whack it onto your rear window. put a fair old blob on the spoiler, use some old cardboard to spread it flat ish, just stops it's squeeging out the side when pressed onto the glass.
As it's glass you can get a razor blade to overspill tigerseal if need be.
It goes onto the glass. Thats why it's handy to have a second pair of hands to help move it about.
if you've been helped. use the thanks button (Y)

employ someone to hold it in place while you stand back and ensure its straight and gaffa tape it on, while the tigerseal sets
