Tyre is rubbing badly!

  1. #1
Bought the vtr not too long ago and noticed a noise when on full left lock. Checked the tyre today and noticed that the left hand tyre is worn on the inside so I checked the arch and the tyre is rubbing on the metal bodywork. I suspect the car has had a ding at some point but when I checked the right there seemed to be enough clearance to get my hand I between the tyre and the bodywork where as the left was close enough to rub? Any suggestions? Will try and get some pictures as well. Cheers

    Are lowered at all?

From what you've described, it sounds like its had a crash and been poorly repaired.

Standard rims and height mate. Any ideas of fixing it?

Not sure mate. I know just the basics of how to fix things etc. Where is the lower arm located or what does it look like so I can check?

Without knowing what part/parts are affected then how is that going to work?

How can you tell just by a side picture? If the wishbone is f**cked then what will be the tell tale signs visually? Will have to get a picture tomorrow.

Sometimes the wheels will sit a bit forward or back with a knackered wishbone.

Here's a pic of a knackered one, really bad.
