Lambda sensors and plugs

  1. #1
As above, have a three plug 16v and need to know:

Which sensor is the first, which is the second (think I have this sussed anyway)

The blue one is plugged in fine, the other one..

    What colour is the plug?
And I need to know which order the wires go into it or a picture of it?

    Cheers

    On a 3 plug 16v

Both sensors are the same blue plug.

The one with the short wire from the loom is first.

With the long part coming from the loom is second.

Makes sense, will not having a second one plugged in make a difference to power or running?

It's throwing up a P0141 suggesting not a normal faulty cat reading but a malfunction.

The car is down on power I'm pretty sure, and that's the only code I'm getting

    Cheers

Second lambda is only to say if the cat is working correctly.

Shouldn't have any effect on running, other than the EML being on.

Bummer, hard to explain the power issue then :/

Hopefully one of the sensors I have that plugs into it will be fine, and ill find out which wires go where, crimp the plug on and get that EML off then go from there.

I've got my ECU now from AlexB and the car runs loads better but definitely isn't running as it should be power wise :/

If you sleeve the 2nd lambda then tie it out of the way in a place where it gets clean air, then you`ll be fine mate.

Yeah I was more concerned about no sensor at all more than that, has my last one on the 8v sleeved

    Awesome, thanks very much!

I've actually done it, the plug I had pinched from a JP4 in the scrappy had the red and green the same colour, and the other 2, well one was thick and one was fat, so i matched them all up, connected a Lambda and boom, fault code gone!

    Cheers bud
