mk2 vts fan not kicking in (pics added)

so been having problems with the car overheating, changed both sensors, doesn't seem to have made any difference except before, the water temp guage would bounce up and down 3 times then stay down, good news is that doesn't happen anymore, was either changing the sensor fixed that or the fact I got the dials off and cleaned them, maybe loose wire?

however, during all that, I noticed the radiator was never coming on, and having had time, ive took photos today, and comparing it with other photos where there is a brown plug, I don't have one, and from where I think the brown plug connects, there's a hole but not sure if I have it right

so can anyone tell me, is the brown plug missing? or do I have it wrong? at the bottom of the first photo, you can see a blue plug hiding under some other plastic wire protector, but seems to be a white wire which the runs to the front and under the engine

also, the problem im getting now is when cold, the car idles fine, then as it heats up, the revs drop down to 800 and if it gets lower, when I try to rev it, its like a serious lack of power and then the engine management light comes on. however, if I keep the revs to maybe 1200, engine management light doesn't come on, and the power is still there like normal, just I need to keep the revs up

any help would be great, thanks

even if anyone's got pics of where the Brown plug is, and where it connects to would help

Have you replaced the sensor in the radiator itself? Its just under pipe on top right what goes to thermostat housing, that's the fan sensor. Could be that.

Don't think the mk2 got a fan switch in the rad, fan is ecu controlled

Yeah don't see any sensor on the rad, think I was told before the mk2 doesn't have fan switch
