Oil Temp Gauge

I'm going for a pimp Stack Pro Control oil temp gauge. As i won't be running any type of oil cooling system straight away when i get the car, i want to keep an eye on things.
My question is, this thing has a warning system, at what temp should i set it to start flashing at me?
And, where is the best place to get a reading? Sump plug adapter seems the easiest.

doesnt the engine in yours have a sensor in the sump? should do if it was from an s2 rallye

Yeah it does, didn't know if i could take off from that or use an adapter sump plug (basically a sump plug that has a take off for a gauge)
Not clued up with gauge take off's

I used the original one and a VDO gauge and it seems to work alright. Might be hit or miss if its accurate using the original sensor but I guess that depends on what you use for monitor the temp. I'd imagine that the kit you are going to use has its own sensor that could be modded to fit into original sensor housing or at least you an adaptor to fit?

I have an early sump on mine, so had the std sensor hole spare.
So used an adapter and fitted the sensor in there.

I decided against using a sump plug one, as it would piss me off and get in the way at oil change time.
Also the sensor and wire would be angled down and become the lowest part of the car.

the difference between sump oil temp and oil gallery temp is 0-2 degrees, its hotter in the sump when warming up, but when it gets to temp there is no difference...
