performance mod's

  1. #1
after an exhaust system and forced induction what mod's are best to go for? thanks
  2. #2
    I'd say Cams.
  3. #3
fanny mould first come on steve
  4. #4
I counted that as the full exhaust system.

So I'd say Decat as thats not been mentioned.

    HAHAHAHA
  5. #5
yeh sorry about that i did just mean a cat-back.....anyway so. . . . manifold with de-cat, then cammed? what about a re-map super chips are claiming 6hp increase for under 300 quid? heard mixed reviews about these though. what you think
  6. #6
    They're bullshit. Basically.
  7. #7
You'll need a remap to see any real benefits with the cams.

I'd get a decat on as thats the cheapest and easiest option and will make a noticeable difference.
  8. #8
    it normall goes
    induction
    full system
    decat
    fanny mould
    head, cams
    remap (chipwizards)

most people miss the head. and as said superchips waste of money

superchip is not a remap, thats how you worded it

was gonna say decat aswell steve lol
  9. #9
what re-maps do you suggest then?
  10. #10
Chip wizards are the way to go many people have used them and have seen good results your looking at around £400 though.
  11. #11
cant say ive heard of them before mate, where are they based?
  12. #12
what model do you have platty
  13. #13
You have a VTR according to your sig so scrap that little lot, drop a VTS engine in then worry about it all later.
  14. #14
if i had the cance to do it all again i would stick the cams in first. they make the biggest difference.
  15. #15
4 months to go meaning their all just plans at the moment, will be a first car though so vts conversion will have to wait unfortunatly.
  16. #16
    what are cams?
    where do they go?
    what do they do?

sorry about me being knieve (sp)
  17. #17
Cams or Camshafts are a shaft of metal with lobes scattered along it. They open your inlet and exhaust valves to let the engine intake fuel and air and also expell waste gases.

Surely if this is a first car, depending on age ofc. Insuring a vtr is pushing it enough, so camming it would be basically crippling, assuming you declare it, which you'd be silly not to...
  20. #20
i dont think it would be crippling.....

vtr's are quite a low insurance group anyway.. so the insurance tbh is quite cheap ...
  21. #21
Cammed vtr at 17? If you know an insurance compay that would go anywhere near, let me know. Assuming of course platty is 17. I might be wrong.
  22. #22
yeh ill be 17 when i get the car so their just idea's to think of at the moment. thanks anyway.
  23. #23
