performance mod's

#1
-
#2I'd say Cams.
-
#3fanny mould first come on steve
-
#4I counted that as the full exhaust system.
So I'd say Decat as thats not been mentioned.
HAHAHAHA
-
#5yeh sorry about that i did just mean a cat-back.....anyway so. . . . manifold with de-cat, then cammed? what about a re-map super chips are claiming 6hp increase for under 300 quid? heard mixed reviews about these though. what you think
-
#6They're bullshit. Basically.
-
#7You'll need a remap to see any real benefits with the cams.
I'd get a decat on as thats the cheapest and easiest option and will make a noticeable difference. -
#8it normall goes
induction
full system
decat
fanny mould
head, cams
remap (chipwizards)
most people miss the head. and as said superchips waste of money
superchip is not a remap, thats how you worded it
was gonna say decat aswell steve lol -
#9what re-maps do you suggest then?
-
#10Chip wizards are the way to go many people have used them and have seen good results your looking at around £400 though.
-
#11cant say ive heard of them before mate, where are they based?
-
#12what model do you have platty
-
#13You have a VTR according to your sig so scrap that little lot, drop a VTS engine in then worry about it all later.
-
#14if i had the cance to do it all again i would stick the cams in first. they make the biggest difference.
-
#154 months to go meaning their all just plans at the moment, will be a first car though so vts conversion will have to wait unfortunatly.
-
#16what are cams?
where do they go?
what do they do?
sorry about me being knieve (sp) -
#17Cams or Camshafts are a shaft of metal with lobes scattered along it. They open your inlet and exhaust valves to let the engine intake fuel and air and also expell waste gases.

#19Surely if this is a first car, depending on age ofc. Insuring a vtr is pushing it enough, so camming it would be basically crippling, assuming you declare it, which you'd be silly not to...Quote:Originally Posted by platty18124 months to go meaning their all just plans at the moment, will be a first car though so vts conversion will have to wait unfortunatly.
-
#20i dont think it would be crippling.....
vtr's are quite a low insurance group anyway.. so the insurance tbh is quite cheap ... -
#21Cammed vtr at 17? If you know an insurance compay that would go anywhere near, let me know. Assuming of course platty is 17. I might be wrong.
-
#22yeh ill be 17 when i get the car so their just idea's to think of at the moment. thanks anyway.
-
#23who make of performance cam wud u recomend and wot sort of power increase cud i expect
-
#24piper, kent, cat all with a remap should see you at vts pace
