releae bearing or clutch??

hi all bought a 1.1, thought the clutch needed to be chnaged due to a loud noise which i thought was the release bearing, however when i removed the box the clutch and bearing look really new.... also the input shaft has copper greese on it and the oil i drained looked rather clean and clear which all indicate a recent clutch change

the nosie went away when i pressed the clutch in, would a fucked box also stop making a noise when the clutch is pressed??

seen this loads of times on new clutches
option one its just settling if it is new
option two with the clutch depressed the bearing is against the forks and under some pressure, no rattle, with it released sometimes they just rattle, again after a while they settle in

as long as it drives ok it should be fine

gave it a spin but i dont 100% know what im looking for, i gave it a wiggle as ive had boxes changed before because of the shaft being a bit loose

My brand new LUK bearing rattled like #### unless the clutch was dipped. Before and after that one I had Valeo ones and they've been fine.

lol yea i guessed that, but i cant remember what a good one sounds like lol, tbh it doesnt sound out of the ordinary, i have a good vts box at my mums ill compare it agianst that, i would just chuck that box on but the 1.1 shafts wont fit it properly :/

car is back together with a second hand valeo release bearing (which i know to be spot on) car is still making a noise so it is the g/box

i went and got my vts box and shafts from my mums house to fit them but my car has tapered shafts and bearings (i heard 3 studs have there own type of shaft, by the looks of it they use mk2 tapered shafts)!! so my mk1 vts flat shafts weren't gonna fit, i cant fit the 1.1 shafts in to a vts box as it'll leek oil so i built the car back up and thought id chuck on my valeo release bearing (to just see if ti was the bearing) just glad its back together, ill probably wait for the b/box to blow up tbh as it drives fine
