gearbox

    im i right iin saying this what ive been told

    to top up my gearbox i can fill it up from the top with the breaver hole but wont that put to much into it

    can someone please help me as i dont wanna break something and cba changing the gearbox if it does break.

    ino but ive not got a drain key like on the sump or is it not the same
    would it damge if i just put some in ]

    They are the same.

    Use one of the bars from your household door handles, old school trick and it does work.

    I would suggest draining it before filling it up too.

    tryed the bar from the door handle and i just twisted the whole piece of metal lol

    drain keys are cheap on the web, or try a local motor spares. were talking a couple of quid here. plug right onto your ratchet.

    they are a few quid to buy, but you can fill the box up from the top ive just done it on my 1.1 just takes a while and watch none goes in your eyes, bubbles come up through the funnel and splashes the oil about a bit

    only reason i did it as i reused my old oil so i didn't have a suitable container with a flexible end to fill it up the proper way, plus i don't care about this car so just wanted to chuck the oil back in easiest way possible
