Just got the XSi running to a standard Im happy with, apart from its hesitant if I rev it slowly. If I slam my foot to the floor, its fine, but if I let off then without giving it any come down revs, it will die.
Also, if I drive the car, it will barely move unless I have it above 4krpm in first.
All the plugs, leads, etc.... are fine, all work in another engine, all the plugs are spaced properly, so I can rule out ignition.
The engine has been timed properly and compression across all the cylinders is good.
Ive checked the loom over and repaired where needed (the yellow wire on the TPS was connecting to the ECU, so bridged that wire).
Now after a further look, it seems that the MAP sensor doesnt have a 5v feed on one of the wires (cant remember which). Would this make it miss/ hesitant?
Could I just take a 5v feed from another wire or would I need to repair that specific wire? Its still connected to the ECU via pin test, just no 5v on it.
