i need to replace the cam pulleys as i think they are gone, is there a guide on here and will it take the timing out (16v)

Of corse ist going to need retimming if you change a pulley lol.
Have search for Saxo Vts Headgasket/Cambelt guide. -
#3I think its them because there is a squeal/knock from under the cover where the pulleys are any other ideas what it would be

#4Cambelt to tight, tensionor bearing or idleler.

#8Well if thats the problem then yer.
Run the risk of if a stone was to flick up and happen to land between the belt and pulley your going to have bent valves.
To get the rear cover off you have to take the pulleys off to get to them -
