Any way to test a steering rack before fully fitting?

   As per title, any way i can test if it leaks or not rather than refit the rack and inlet manifold only to find its fucked? any way to turn on the powersteering without starting the engine?

   If you disconnect the small connection on the alternator that should trick the car into thinking its running when you only have the ignition on.
   Failing that you could bridge the engine running relay
