Hispec brakeline flexis

  1. #1
Ive got some Hispec brakes to fit but the hoses i got with them have a male end and the part that the flexis screw to are also male ended, im thinking of just changing the front o/e lines to braided and just use a female end to screw the flexi into, rather than pay £42 for new hispec hoses when that could pay for front braided lines.

I cant find an adapter either and that would add quite abit of lenght on the fittings in the arch.

    Opinions?

It'll be fence of you cable tie it out of the way, just make sure it doesn't come into contact with the tires.

Sounds like the caliper has a male male adaptor screwed in to it!!

Hi spec are the same fitment as or apart from the length!!

The caliper has a banjo fitting, its the other end that fits into the m10 male fitting in the arch. These brakelines have a male end also meaning either need a female - female adapter which i cant find or just change the front brake lines to braided using a female end for the hispec hoses.

Hispec hoses are £42, for a little bit extra i could make some front braided lines?

Just go for some normal hi spec lines then, those lines you have are incorrect

What sort of fitting for the bracket in the arch? M10x1 swivel?

I know ive championed them in other threads, but I recommend getting in touch with llama 4x4 (http://www.llama4x4.co.uk) as they can make any brake line to your length and spec. For a pair to suit wilwood midiltes I was quoted 35quid. Cant grumble with that!

I meant braided from m/c to the flexis. Put the money towards those rather than change the flexis.

On a side note, anyone know what fittings and lenghts for if was to get a rough quote for full braided lines front and rear? May work out alot cheaper than if was to buy all the stuff seperate and make my own like i had planned in the near future

How many fittings you need all depend on how your doing it.

Bulk head fittings front and rear
Banjo or straight fittings on to the mc?

And you will still need the correct length flexis to go to the caliper as those you have already sound like generic ones which is what hi spec used to send out with calipers a few years ago

Going to just get new ones from hispec i think. Custom ones work out same sort of price anyway.
