Anyone had the driver side inner arch welded?

    Hi.
Ive been doing some Pre MOT work on my old VTR which my lass now drives on a daily basis to and from work. Unfortunately its been slightly neglected as I've been doing a lot of work on my own car an MG ZT-T.

Last week I got a bit of a shock when I discovered a serious rust hole on the drivers side arch under the ECU mount. On further looking at it and having a prod around its rotten as a pear in an area about 7" x 3" so needs a new section welding in.
The drivers seat also needs a mount re welding in too as its sheared one of the mounting nuts next to centre console.

Question is how much am I looking at to have these parts welded up? Anyone know a mobile welder (car sorn'd) in Huddersfield area who is not going to take the piss price wise. I will have everything stripped inc interior for bits to be welded so its just a case of cleaning area up and welding away.

Yeah it is a common area and I had given it some protection a couple of years ago but amazing what living on a farm for two years can do to a car.

The rear arches and boot floor are totally rot free and once the welding has been done the whole body kit, both bumpers and both front wings are being removed and getting rust treated and stone chip paint applied in all four arches and underneath and along the sills.

Had the car 11yrs in December (since new) and I was pretty gutted to see the wing so rotten as the car has been very well looked after.
Once welded and rust treated its getting a full chasis restoration with everything painted/plated and new wishbones fitted etc.
Been on Detailing World and I'm inspired plus whilst its stripped down be rude not to.

Not sure on those little parts but mine failed on a lot lot more than that. Probably 10 times the amount of welding, but including both the parts you were on about.

Sills both sides, both front arches, drivers side had about 7 patches done, rear arch passenger side. Got quoted £700 by the MOT garage, shopped around and got it down to £500, the £400 and got it done by a backstreet guy who charged £300 for the lot. Monday will tell if its good enough or not but for half the price I can't really moan!

    Thanks for that HD7.
I'm hoping its not going to be more than £100 to be honest as it really isn't much welding and will be simple for someone who knows what hes doing.
