Squeaking from the rear

  1. #1
Hi I've had my Saxo 1.1 forte with vtr alloys for over 6 months and just now I've had the problem where it has almost lowered itself and the driver wheel arch is rubbing and giving a very annoying squeak, it seems the shocks are fine and evenly sat! Anyone know or had the problem I've been having?

Beam has called it a day.

I absolutely agree your beam has had it.

I'll bet there's a load of camber on it as well.

It's rubbing on the inside of the arch.

Eventually, the whole trailing arm will vibrate when you drive.

    As said above, beam.

If you have some sick camber on the rear then it deffo is.

So I need to replace the whole rear axel then?

If you've got camber then yes.

The seals dry up and let water in which corrodes the stub axles, so even if you fitted new bearings it'll still have play and not last long at all.

There are plenty of specialists who can supply them on an exchange basis. like Axledirect, fraserbrownengineering and IMaxles etc

I suggest you weigh up the benefits of replacing the axle.

I know fraserbrown guarantees their axles for life (not sure how they check this but their theory behind it is sound)
