Any ideas or has my caliper called it a day?

You've crashed it into a curb, because you can't handle the 16v's haven't you..
  3. #3

I'd say Feb time. Ive only noticed last week. I get a little vibration/knock noise coming from the pas wheel and it must be that. I changed the shaft because i thought it was that. Drivers is fairly new too

Before all the knobs come in and start blaming this and that take the car somewhere that has a run out gauge. Check the disk for run out then check the hub. Will tell you your problem mate.

Ok. I'll drop by a garage tommorow.

I wouldn't saying a warped disc ever makes a knocking noise.
  10. #10
Well it wont be either shafts as they're new.. it's not your usual driveshaft knock. I know what that is and it isnt that.

If you press the brake slighly its fine, press harder you hear it, press harder still it goes.

Of course a warped dis or hub can make a knocking noise, If its pretty badly warped it ill be hitting the pads under braking. Also you will get a feel on the break pedal as if the abs is kicking in.

I agree, however from what he's saying I'd expect him to be hearing that awful droning noise, rather than a heavy knocking noise, either way you'll feel it.
