ABS light

Right first things first, my vts has no abs fitted as the previous owner was going to use it for the track, and put gti-6 brakes on.

my mechanic has tried to bluff it, by connecting the abs light wiring to the oil light wire (i think) and the abs light comes on and then goes off when the car is started. however it failed the mot today as its meant to go off 2 secs after the car is started.

Could you connect the abs wiring to say the airbag wiring so that the abs light comes on and then goes off 2 secs after it starts or is that not possible?

just want to get it motd but to put abs back in would be costly?

    Or any other ideas?

    cheers

Would it not be possible to just remove the bulb?

Sounds like you've got a very particular tester to me... Is there any other evidence the car is meant to have ABS?

No you cant just "remove the bulb".

No cant remove the bulb as new testing regulation mean that all lights need to be shown on dash?

And no, no abs pump etc.

It failed a month ago for abs, the light was on for the mot test and then for the retest it was wired with the oil light (i think) so went off, however the mot tester took the car for a spin to check the abs and obv it didnt work (as its not there) so waited a month to put it through for full test again.

Mine just passed with the ABS light taped over. Seems like you've got a 'by the book to the letter' MOT tester. And no, they can't take the car for a spin to test the ABS.

Mine has been removed, and it passed.
No yes, you can 'Just remove the bulb' in certain cases.
The ABS light provides no danger to the driver or anyone around so I see no reason it should fail if its been removed.

Is your tester Quickfit my any chance?

What are these certain cases out of interest?
