Hi, im having trouble with the suspension on my saxo vtr, i have put adjustable springs on the front and replaced both drop links but it still drives awful, its like there is no absorption for bumps in the road, would i need to change my shocks aswell to fix this?

    thanks michael

Problems with suspension it can be any number of failed parts giving you a round ride. Did you not change the dampners/top strut bearing?

It could also be that the wishbone bushes are worn or the wishbone themselves are loose. You could try nipping the wishbone nuts up under the carpet in the foootwell.

no i only changed the springs and drop links, it was when i did that the ride got worse, it bangs over bumps even at a slow speed thats why i thought it might be the shocks

i will try nipping up the wishbones up tho see if that helps tho
    thanks

How low are the springs? It will hit the bumpstops before the car is as low as you want it.. Push down on the front of the car, and if there's is no springyness at all, then the bumpstops are your problem

its only down 40mm. when i push doen on the front of the car thr is a little bit of springyness but it knocks, ive already replaced the drop links i thought would have stopped the knocking. ive checked the wishbone nuts under carpet too and they are tight.

I think top strut bearings, if there gone they make a banging. Plus they'd have come off and been disturbed when you had the springs done. So they might not be seated right if there gone.
