Important! : 2 issues on my VTS (help)

    So heres problem 1.

Yesterday I was driving, and my stereo turned off for a moment and then went back on, i didnt think too much of it as I was rushing, but straight after that my my power steering failed (was going around a sharp turn and damn the steering was stiff) almost couldn't turn the car round the corner, also noticed the heater stopped working and the fan.

Could the issue be the fuse?

    So now for problem 2.

I was still able to drive the car, but now the car temp was getting real hot (75% to 95% of maximum) as I was in traffic alot (Central London) and had no fan to keep things cool. For the last few years I have had my fan my wired into the ignition, so the fan is always on. I did this as after i had my vts conversion done the engine always ran quite (like 3/4) and i never found the cause. So I just kept the fan on all the time to handle the issue (fixing the symptoms instead of the cause). But now I really want to handle this over heating issue.

Not sure what it could be on this issue, any ideas? Really want to keep my temp under the engine bay as cool as possible (ideally without the need for the fan to be on all the time).

    Thanks in advance

Problem 1.Loose battery connections or a failing alternator.

Is this not a common problem that is something to do with the ignition or wiring in and around there?

Seems like you fiddled with the electrics and you now have a dodgy main connection as every juicy electric bit is clearly not getting enough supply. Check your main battery cables and wire a switch on that fan.

Check all your fuses and cooling temp sensor while you're in there.

Doubt its anything todo with the alternator as the voltage is fine (i got a voltmeter), remember with the engine off my fan should still work (wired it into ignition).

Definently haven't fiddled with any electrics, ill check connections, though everything else was working, such as lights, stereo (after it initially turned off), amplifiers, interior light etc.

Fuses are definently gunna be checked over.Doubt

i had exact same isuue, lost power steering internal heater and rear heated windscreen, replaced ignition barrel, fixed all of them.
