Painting an exhaust

    Anyone done it? Would love a gloss black back box

    Would I need anything different done?

    Just make sure your prep is good and use high temp paint. I just used some high temp paint on my XL exhaust and it looked rough but it came out like new.

    I wire brushed all the shit off, bit wet and dry in places and just sprayed it with the paint. It was a few years ago and because of the paint type it just needed a few coats without undercoat.

    You can get specific under coats which are high temp then you can spray normal paint on top but I've heard there shite.

    Repainted a few kart exhausts back to black rather than rust, just same as mick said above really just getting all rust off sandpaper it then gloss black high temp paint, always came up looking good.
