Metallic 'clunking'

  1. #1
    Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone has seen(heard) a problem with a metallic clunking noise when in low gear, tends to only happen when i take my foot totally off the accelerator.

Also when i get the car up to about 35k revs the engine gets loud and the accelerator pedal vibrates a lot especially when holding back on the pedal instead of putting my foot flat down.
I was thinking maybe engine mount/gearbox mount but don't really know.

    Car is a 1.1 Saxo 03.

Possibly a worn gearbox mount, whats the spec mate on your 35k revving 1.1 lol?

As above one of the mounts is probably dead especially if you can feel vibrations alternatively it could be your exhaust is touching part of the chassis and causing the knocking and vibrations.

ye, just a stock model 1.1, had it a couple of weeks, nippy flat out. I figured it would probably be gearbox related.
