Wtf has happened here? Seat mounting

  1. #1
I was taking the drivers seat out of my saxo a minute ago. Had all of the bolts out but it was a bit of a struggle to get the seat out, eventually it came out but left this hole in the floor... Wtf has happened? The metal doesn't look rusty or anything.

Well it looks fairly obvious to me whats happened
  3. #3
Due to the weakness of the metal over time it can tear, some corrode and break others tear, mine were rusty so I welded the nut back on the body

My mk2 saxo has the exact same damage in that spot, I always figured it was from when the car had had a shunt and the seat shifted forward or something as again no rust on mine either

Wear and tear, even if it moves slightly over time it'll fatigue the metal and pop.
  6. #6
Common thing on saxo's, just needs welding back in place.
  7. #7
Yeah we've welded quite a few Saxo/106's that have done this

Shall be welding it back together tomorrow. Shoddy french quality

Seen two 106's myself that have needed welding here.

usual cause is seats not tightened up enough at factory when built and allows movement which in time fractures the floor that the threaded insert is attached to --used to be something we checked on a PDI --after finding alot of them loose --not part of citreon pdi --but it became part of our pdi
handbrake lever+ rear front wishbone mounting bolts infloor was another thing that often came loose for same reason

    Welded back together today.

My 106 has done exactly the same, I need to get mine welded up. Having a rocking chair in my car is annoying

my seat started creaking, found the same problem!
Solved the creaking for now, wedged a torx socket under the rail

ill get round to fixing it soon haha
