Help wiring old fan to new radiator

  1. #1
Hi all i need some help with wiring up my old fan to my new radiator.

My old radiator was a small rad with a plug on it, while i was up the local scrap yard i took out a bigger rad from a VTR, which fits in lovely looks nice and will do a better job and cost me peanuts, anyway i now have 3 plugs 2 female and 1 male so i need help wiring them up so i can get my fan to work as its not working im guess becuase of these plugs

    plug 1

3 cables 2 blue 1 yellow (plugged into the old rad)

    Plug 2

1 Green wire comes off the fans motor (must of plugged into plug 3)

    Plug 3

2 blue and 1 green wire

i think that my problem is that plug 1 tells the fan when to kick in but as the new rad dosen't have a temp plug on it the fan doesn't know that it needs to turn on so stays off, what wires do i need to connect to where, thanks for the help in advance.

so you've put a later radiator with no fan switch into a saxo that doesnt have an run ecu controlled fan?

You will need to buy a aftermarket fan controller with a probe that sits in the fins of the radiator.

    Like this. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/perfor...fan-controller or http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/perfor...r-kenlowe-fans

I have the second on mine.

As above or buy one of the eBay temperature control things for the fan which makes it adjustable. Sensor sits inside the rad top hose. Bare in mind they ain't great though, mine broke so I went back to using the radiator fan switch.
Maybe renew the rad if its old for one with a switch? All pucker kit then no bodges
