Eyc + Ezr... Same colour?

  1. #1
    I'm needing a new door and wing to fit my Y reg, 3 plug ecu 2 tone.

    The sticker in the door says "eycc". However, I got my door resprayed when I bought the car due to being vandalised and the body shop had given me the tin back with some paint spare. On the tin it says "EZR". Personally I can't notice any difference in colour and neither can anybody else.

    Eyc parts are hard to source, however there are a few ezr parts and seem more common.

    So if I was going to replace any panels should I get EYC like it says on the sticker in the door or get EZR, what the body shop used?

    Thanks

    EZ is artic. EY is Quartz.

    I know they are different names but the colour looks exactly the same when comparing my door to the roof for example. I didn't know if Citreon were trying to invent a new name but for the same colour?

    Completely different shades of silver when next to each other.

    Brother had a EZR i had a EYC. Could tell the difference.

    You can't tell because they would have blended the paint in, making it less noticeable.

    So the body shop have done a very good job at getting the wrong paint and blending it in or the tin has been labeled up wrongly?

    I have read that early 2 tones were EZR (until 2001) then from then on it was EYC.

    Other way round.
    And it's not just 2 tones, also the same full silver cars

    Early = EYC
    Later = EZR

    It's Y reg / 51 that is the swap over time.
