Just fitted a I think 2000-2002 vts engine in my 1996 vts.
Only done 135.00km. Fitted a new belt. Runned great for 20km then somehow the cambelt(brand new) worked its way out, torn apart and jumped some tooth= 8 exhaust valves busted.
How can this happen? To tight on the alignment?
Now. I've have my head from 96' engine.
But I think I saw on the old engine cut outs in the pistons for both intake and exhaust valves? Is this correct? Because on the new engine there is only cut outs for the intake valves.
So question 2 is. Does the old head make the exhaust valves hit the pistons on the new engine ?
