Mk2 vts misfire

   My vts started to violently misfire after a little run up the road (on idle) got it home checked the plugs seem ok, put my spare coil pack in and it seemed better but not perfect, I let it idle and watched the engine and I noticed every time it missed I could hear a little click/spark noise comeing from the coil pack , any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to make a 2 mile trip every morning so the last thing I need is it breaking down on me, many thsnks

   Maybe the coil pack wiring has a break in the insulation & its shorting out against something.

   Strange thing is I have a spare coil pack and it misses with that as well but not as bad

   sounds like they both are not the best.
   
   Did you check and re gap the plugs?

   Put a brand new coil pack in today and it seems to have stopped the missfire
