Power steering has gone need help go to fcs on friday :(!!!!!!!!

Right guys i would appreciate all the help i can get atm as i set off friday morning to fcs which is 215miles one way from my area, today as im doing a long journey to fcs this week i just did a check over on my car, i topped the oil up, topped my coolant up everything else was fine then took it out for a drive and on way back my power steering has decided to pack up on me so i parked it up for an hour or 2 and have just been out to check and it has leaked all the fluid over my drive way, is this common as i can't see any pipes come off or and cracks in the bottle.

if anyone has any advise please help will be much appreciated

    thanks Lee

also is the power steering connected up to the coolant because if ive tooped the coolant up to much will this knock the power steering out?

right when i put the steering on full lock it leaks like an orangey fluid from back of the steering rack!

    Could be leaking from -

    rack, bottle, pump or piping

edit - just seen you said its coming from the rack

check connections to - from rack

take it to a garage and they will fix it

I've been driving mine around without the power steering for a while as I haven't had time to fix it. I wouldn't worry if its broken.

It will drive but with no fluid, the pump will break when it overheats

Disconnect the pump till you get it fixed manual steering ain't too bad

look at the pump and find the wiring to it, follow it up and disconnect it, black connector with a red kinda clip that you pull upwards, use a flat ended screwdriver to ease it off mate

or as above, pull fuse out
